Our story began with a deep sense of responsibility to honor the workers who once served our nation and now face health challenges because of it.
In 2000, the federal government passed the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA), offering medical benefits and compensation to nuclear weapons workers and their families. While this act was a critical step in recognizing their sacrifice, accessing those benefits proved to be anything but simple.
That’s where we stepped in.
We founded Unifi Healthcare with a simple but powerful goal: to bring compassion back to healthcare. What began as a small effort to serve nuclear weapons workers has grown into a trusted part of the Unifi Alliance—a network known for delivering seamless, personalized care to those who qualify for federal occupational illness programs.
From the start, we understood that real care begins with connection. That’s why we created a thoughtful system to match caregivers and patients based on personality and preferences, not just availability. This approach fosters meaningful relationships, lifelong bonds, and care that truly feels like home.
As our reputation grew, so did our reach. Today, Unifi Healthcare supports a broader community of individuals benefiting from federally funded programs, while partnering with the Nuclear Workers Institute of America (NWIA) to help clients navigate the complex claims process. Through it all, we’ve built a culture where caregivers and patients alike feel valued, supported, and connected.

As my mother’s health began to fail, we began to look for 24/7 care in the comfort of her home and staying close to friends. We interviewed many agencies, and we were most impressed with Unifi’s ‘make it happen attitude’ and compassion. Within 24 hours, they assembled a round-the-clock team. Our family highly-recommends Unifi to care for your precious family member…
